'THE first full meeting of the new I maintenance advisory committee for Use Western area was held last week in Exeter, and Mr. G. H. Gardner (R.H.A. Western area chairman) was elected chairman; vice-chairman is Mr. W. H. Sage of the Devon and Cornwall division of the T.R.T.A.

It was revealed that the road motor Section of British Railways in the area wished to join the committee and this was readily agreed.

A sub-committee has been given the task of producing a guide to "what the vehicle examiner looks for", based on the West Midland committee's list, while the possibility of producing simple maintenance charts is being examined.

The next meeting is at Bristol. on March 25.
