MIIE concern known as S. Lewis 1 (Newcastle), Ltd., which operates a daily service in both directions between Newcastle and London, has recently put into commission a well-appointed saloon coach which is typical of many such vehicles now being employed on longdistance work. "The New Stage Coach" is the name which the company gives to this latest acquisition, a noteworthy point being that the vehicle runs upon the route that used to be followed by the old stage coaches of the nineteenth century, through Sunderland, West Hartlepool, Stockton and York.
