REPORTS reaching the Road Haulage Association North Western (Eastern) area office from operators seeking rates increases show that the advertisements and follow-up letters sent out earlier this month (CM December 5) have been instrumental in helping hauliers to negotiate necessary increases.

Mr Bill Farnorth, RHA area secretary, told CM this week that the exercise had been extremely worth while and that customers' resistance to rates increases‘had been quite considerably reduced as a result of the RHA action.
