H. L. Ellis has been appointed a dIrector and B. T. Hancock, chief engineer of the Devon General Omnibus and Touring Co. Ltd., together with its subsidiary companies, Court Garages (Torquay) Ltd.. and Bute Court Garages Ltd. Mr. Ellis has been director and general manager of the Western National Omnibus Co, Ltd., and the Southern National Omnibus Co. Ltd. since 1960. Since 1963 he has been a director of London Coastal Coaches Ltd., and of Samuelson New Transport Co, Ltd,. the London coach operators. Mr. Hancock. who is 40, is already chief engineer of the Western National Omnibus Co, Ltd, and Greenslades Tours Ltd. His latest appointment gives Mr. Hancock an overall responsibility for over 1.300 p.s.v. in the National Bus Company's south-west region.
F. Thomsen has been appointed managing director of World-Wide Coaches Ltd., of Camberwell, the American Express coach and car hire subsidiary. This move follows the completion early this month of the take-over of Valliant-Cronshaw Ltd.—the company of which Mr. Thomsen was previously managing director—by Ron Bushnell, of Hall's and Silverline Coaches, Hounslow. Mr. Thomsen's predecessor at World-Wide was Peter Stacey, who recently joined the Bushnell organization as its general manager.
Peter H. Currell has been appointed plant and transport officer with Tees Valley and Cleveland Water Board with effect from January 1. Mr. Currell is at present chief engineer with Eastbourne Corporation Transport. Philip Mount, 58, is soon to relinquish his present posItion as managing director of Mintex and become chairman; he is 10 join the board of BBA Group Ltd. as marketing director, P. Cailey who has been with Mintex Ltd. in Manchester since 1954, has been appointed depot service supervisor of new, large premises now open in Werra!! Street, off Ordsall Lane, Salford 5. The depot is under the control of regional manager, E. H. Robson.
M. T. Seagriet 29. becomes field sales co-ordination manager for Coventry Climax fork-lift trucks as from January 1—a new appointment. M. Seagrief joined Coventry Climax in 1961, G. C. Smith, general manager of East Midland Motor Services Ltd. has been appointed additionally a director as from January 1, 1970.

James G. Wright, sales manager of the suspensions division of the Dunlop Engineering Group at Coventry, has retired after 48 years with the company.
S. Senior, Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd. area manager at Sheerness, is to take over from A. S. Grist at Tunbridge Wells when Mr. Grist retires at the end of the month.
Alistair Ferguson, 40, has been r appointed Birmingham area manager of the lieatwaste industrial waste disposal operation of Stephenson Clarke Industrial Services, part of t the Powell Duffryn GroupHe succeeds Basil Simpson, who is now SCIS's Midlands transport executive. Mr. Ferguson moves to Beatwaste from Greenock where he was chief officer in the cleansing department for five years.
M. J. Park has been appointed special projects manager—tachographs, of Pitney-Bowes Ltd. which will be producing tachographs early next year in its factory at Harlow. Essex, under licence from the Zenith Watch Manufacturing Co. Ltd.. Switzerland.
W. E. Phipps, 52. has been appointed home sales director in the fork-lift truck division of Coventry Climax Engines Ltd. He had been home sales manager since 1966. Three new positions have been created for Coventry Climax managers, who become departmental directors, namely G. F. Ashby, 54, purchasing manager since 1968; K. Best, 42, works manager at Sandy Lane; S. Clarke, 59. works manager of the Widdrington Road factory.
J. M. Blake has been appointed managing director and chief executive of Alenco Ltd.; previously he was M.D. of British Ermeto Corporation and Simplifix Couplings, two of Alenco's UK subsidiaries. Colin Andrews has been appointed Northern Ireland representative by William Dennison Ltd.. Belfast, which specializes in the sale of new and used commercial vehicles and contractors plant.
