• At Barton-on-Humber (Lines) magistrates' court, Wilbur John Phillips, haulage contractor, of the Elms, Abbey Road, Ulceby, pleading guilty to failing to pay National Insurance contributions, said he had not paid because he had been waiting for two years for over £700 SET contribution to be repaid to him by the Government.

-Prosecuting solicitor commented that it was unlikely that this refund would be made until the arrears of contributions had been paid. Phillips was fined 10 and was ordered to pay arrears of £70 lOs 6d.
