• Radio messages may be used to ask artic drivers to avoid certain areas, or pull off the road, when passing through the West Midlands under bad weather conditions.
Recently the West Midlands Traffic Management Committee met RHA representatives to discuss the problems that are caused by. and to, large artics, particularly in times of snow and ice. The WMTMC is to draw up a list of trouble spots and the RHA has undertaken to obtain from its members the number of articulated vehicles that are in the Midlands and an estimate of the numbers passing through.
