has already resulted in tangible financial returns for the Midlothian-based business.

"Volumes running into Scotland via Palletforce are around 20% higher than we first expected, and we are currently handing up to 200 pallets a day since joining the pallet network. Our finances are increasing, as is our number of customers," says Peter Wright. MD at Dalkeith Transport.

Wright tells CM the company has won several new contracts since it joined Palletforce in March, a move that saw it end its 10-year partnership with Palletways (CM 28 January). The new business has been secured with drinks manufacturer AG Barr for its Strathmore Water product.

To cope with the additional volumes, Dalkeith has taken delivery of six new double-deck trailers.

In addition, at the end of the August, the firm will receive its first Palletforce shareholder dividend.

Wright concludes: "We are very encouraged by how the partnership is working out, and we are confident the roots are there for further growth."
