• ZF will show its TA90 frontwheel-drive transaxle at the Coach and Bus show in October. The three-speed automatic gearbox and a differential unit, with provision for CV joints and independent suspension, is designed for buses and vans up to 7 tonnes GVW. The electronically controlled gearbox can handle up to 170kW (228hp).
Designed initially for US delivery vans, the unit has been used in a low-floor Mercedes bus. Interest in front-wheel-drive commercials was stimulated by MAN's SLW2000 concept truck at last year's Hanover show.
