• Peat Marwick McLintock, joint receiver for Carrymaster, says the trailer firm's Eurofridge operation has now ceased trading and a buyer is being sought for the division's assets.

The receiver is also talking to finance houses in a bid to keep Carrymaster's trailer Leasing division trading, as no buyer has been found.

Peat Marwick McLintock has also been called in as joint administrative receiver by North West Freighters of Haydock, Lancs, following cashflow problems. NWF is still trading, and it is hoped that the company will be sold as a going concern. It was founded in 1971 and handles refrigerated distribution and general haulage throughout Europe.

With a staff of 55 NWF operates out of Haydock, London and the Isle of Man with a fleet of 24 tractors and 90 semis.
