Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A test track for use in developing and evaluating its products is to be built by Fodens Ltd. of Sandbach. This is being done because many of the company's products built for overseas and off the road markets do not comply with the C and U Regulations and also to mitigate the increasing inconvenience caused by road testing on public highways.

The track will be laid down in a rectangle approximately 180f1 wide and 80011 long giving a circuit of some 0.5 miles. The road surfaces included will comprise about twothirds limestone rock rough-going, and one third macadam.

Brake testing will be by roller tester when the new site is finished, the tester to be installed being the Triangle of the type used by the MoT. Future development of the site will probably make the test circuit about 0.75 miles long with a turning circle pad.

Fodens expect the track to be completed before the end of 1968,
