A LTHOUGH the mileage run by the

Northern General Transport Co., Ltd., and associated companies, in the last financial year had been maintained at 40.5m., as in the previous 12 months, the number of passengers carried fen by nearly lm., largely because of the effect of television. This was stated by Mr. W. T. James, chairman, at the annual general meeting last week.

Reduction of traffic had not been evenly distributed, as most of the toss occurred on Sundays and outside peak hours on week-days. The peak-hour problem had not been affected at all.
