A ROW HAS erupted between a Leeds-based logistics company and its haulage contractors who claim they are owed nearly £30,000.
Vision Logistics admits to suffering a cashflow problem but says the contractors are partly to blame for payment delays.
Reading-based P&D International Transport says it is owed more than 120,000 for reefer work carried out between May and July. Director Peter West says he has experienced enormous difficulties pinning down Vision's transport manager Brian Bett about when payments would be made.
"I think he is trying to do too much on his own and can't control it all. I'm very disappointed about what has happened."
Owner-driver David Jackson, based in Chelmsford, Essex, says he is still owed £8,000 from work undertaken between May and early August. "It's disastrous and without it! could be going under."
However Bett says the hauliers are partly to blame because their invoices were sent in late.
"We foolishly agreed to pay people on quicker terms than we are being paid. We also have an insurance claim going through with another company and they are withholding money until the claim is paid."
