• A last-ditch attempt has been made to avert possible strike action from 44 Bradford, Salford and Scottish-based drivers at Allied Industries .
Representatives of the Bradford-based company were to meet trade union officials on 23 September to negotiate on the 2,5% wage rise which has already been rejected by the drivers.
Maurice Britton, Bradford secretary of the Transport and General Workers Union says a meeting of the drivers on 19 September resulted in a decision to definitely "take some type of industrial action.'
