• Bussing commercial vehicles from Germany are to be marketed in the UK by Brian Watt, Commercial Vehicles, Wetmoor Lane, Wath on Dearne, Rotherham, Yorks. This firm is on the verge of signing a sole-concessionaire agreement with Bussing and intends to set up distributors throughout the country. At present, left-hand-drive vehicles only will be available, right-hand drive being expected next spring.

Brian Watt, Commercial Vehicles, has already imported four chassis, three of which have been sold with one retained for use by Brian Watt Transport Ltd (they are international hauliers). These were BS 19 S tractive units for operation at 32 tons gross in Britain. The model has a Bussing 12.316 litre diesel engine giving 240 bhp at 2200 and 622 lb.ft. torque at 1300 rpm. Wheelbase is 10ft 3in. and the engine drives through a ZF six-speed overdrive gearbox.

The BS 19 S is one of the latest Bussing models with high-quality forward control cab. It has a full-air dual-circuit braking system with spring brakes on the rear axle for parking; it is reported that no alterations to the braking system are being made to meet the British requirements. Alternative rear axle ratios of 6.7 and 7.4 to I give maximum speeds of 57 and 52 mph respectively.
