KNOWN as the Ampli-Lift, a BennesMarrel-designed; underbody, single-ram tipping gear is shown fitted to an all-steel, 18-cu.-yd. fixed-sided body, the outstanding feature of the gear being the use of a triangulated support member that gives improved stress distribution. The remaining exhibit comprises a steel-framed platform body 22 ft. 8 in. long, mounted on a BedfordBoughton six-wheeled chassis.
The Ampli-Lift tipping gear is of unusual interest in that the lower end of the ram is pivot-mounted on the stabilizer, the base of which slides in chassis runners. Lifting capacity of the ram is 20 tons.
