I N the commercial vehicle field, there are two models marketed by the British Renault Company—the Fourgon van and the Estalette van. The display on this stand consists of four Fourgon 6-cwt. vans and five Estafette 15-cwt. models with a variety of.bodywork. There is also a Fourgon chassis unit which is. monnted on a raised . plinth and has a mirror underneath it to show the mechanical construction. The wheels are driven by cams to demonstrate the independent suspension of the model.

The Fourgon has many interesting features: it has a sealed-for-life cooling system and the chassis requires no greasing. Front-wheel drive and all-independent suspension (which can be adjusted to vary the ground clearance) give the Fourgon a remarkable off-the-road performance for a vehicle of its type. The engine used in the model has a capacity of 845 c.c. and gives a maximum net output of 28 b.h.p. at 4,500 r.p.m. Standard equipment includes heater and demister.

There are three standard versions of the Renault Estafette on the stand—the 187-cu.-ft. van, the high-roof version with a capacity of 215 Cu. ft. and the pick-up. A number of standard body designs, including a gown van, a mobile shop and a milk float, are now available for the Estafette. One of these, a Van-Technicon with 360-cu.-ft. body is shown, and to show the basis for them there is a chassis-cab unit exhibited. The Estafette has the 1,108-c.c. Renault engine, which has an output of 44-5 b.h.p. at 4,900 r.p.m. and, like the Fourgon, has a sealed cooling system.
