AV470 and Perkins 6.354 engines .being shared equally nongst them. There is no new model exhibited and the ost recent addition to the Dodge range appearing on the and is the D407 normal-control model, which has an merican-style, all-steel cab and Perkins engine and is own with a standard all-steel tipper body. Maximum oss weight rating of this model is 12 tons.
Of the other chassis shown, two have been uprated in respect of gross weight to take advantage of the new regulations. A I7-ft. 9-in.-wheelbase version of the 13310 with A.E.C. engine, which is now available to operate at 16 tons gross, providing that a 6-ton capacity front-axle, heavy-duty front springs, 11.00-20. 16-ply front tyres and full air brakes are fitted. The previous maximum rating was 15 tons. The second uprated exhibit is a 1)309, which is shown with a Perkins 6.354 engine and a wheelbase of 14 ft. 10 in. Four wheelbase versions of this model-11 ft. 8 in., 13 ft. 7 in. and 17 ft. 9 in. are the other three—can now be supplied for 15-ton gross weight, as well as the present rating of 13,7 tons, provided that certain heavy-duty equipment, including an Eaton 18802 rear axle, a heavy7duty gearbox and full air or a special sir-assisted hydraulic braking system is fitted.

The remaining three models shown by Dodge are a T310 21)-ton gross, six-wheel, double-drive, forward-control chassis with A.E.C. engine and two-speed rear axles; an A308 I8-ton g.t.w. automatic-coupling tractive unit with a Perkins 6.354 engine, five-speed gearbox and two-speed rear axle, and a 13310 24-ton g.t.w. fifth-wheel tractive unit with an A.E.C. AV470 engine, five-speed gearbox and again a two-speed rear axle.
As well as the vehicle exhibits Dodge is featuring a sectioned Cummins V6 diesel engine, this being one of the lightweight units which will eventually be produced by the recently formed Chrysler-Cummins company in Darlington. There is also a sectioned Perkins 6.354 engine.
