Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Austin Motor Co., Ltd., Longbridge Works, Northfield, Birmingham.

THERE are a total of 15 vehicles being exhibited by I Austin. These range from the 5-cwt. Mini van to the 8-ton, tractive-unit version of the new F7 model and nclude examples of the Mini-Moke and Gipsy.

Main interest will centre round the examples of the FJ vhich is described elsewhere in this issue, and as well as he 18-ton tractive unit there are examples of the three other nodels in the range. The FJK100 has a wheelbase of 2 ft. 7 in. and is shown as a chassis/cab with the B.M.C., wo-speed rear axle. This chassis has a load-capacity rating 5 tons and, going up the scale, the FJK140 7-tonner is hown with a platform body in a wheelbase of 13 ft. 4 in. 'Atm equipment on this model is power-assisted steering, le standard fitting on the final model (the FJK160 -former) which is shown in a wheelbase of 9 ft. 3 in. with 7 cu.-yd. body by Telehoist.

Points to look for in the FJ models are the tilt cab, which as many excellent features and a high standard of interior -im and fittings, and the advanced design of braking ystem, which incorporates a power-assisted handbrake. A ual air-pressure actuator acts on a tandem master cylinder; andbrake assistance is provided by a diaphragm chamber :ting on one of the relay levers in the handbrake linkage. Another recently introduced model is being shown—the iFK120, which appears in its 6-ton version. This is a 3rmal-control chassis and the engine used is the B.M.C. 1-litre diesel. There are also examples of other Austin inges including a FGK60 3-tonner, an FFK140 7-tormer id a variety of van models; as well as the Mini van there

an A35.6 Cwt., a J2M 16/18 cwt., a J4M10 10 cwt., a DM30 30 cwt. amd a 1--ton van.
