concerning Environment Secretary Chris Patten's comments about discouraging vehicle use by raising vehicle excise duty (CM 27 September-3 October), my own comments are stronger.
Why not ban vehicles over 2.5 tonnes from all roads from 12:00hrs Saturday to midnight Sunday? Not many companies accept deliveries on Saturday afternoon, and any vehicle could reach its destination between midnight Sunday and 08:00hrs Monday.
