• The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has published a list of the current petrol engined vans and cars that classifies them according to their ability to run on unleaded petrol.
The list tells operators/owners if the vehicle can: E use either leaded or unleaded petrol without modification; E use unleaded fuel, but only after consulting a dealer about any modifications: E use only leaded petrol.
All dealers who are members of the SMMT will be supplied with the list. It includes only cars and vans cur
rently being made, but within the next few weeks it will be extended to cover models up to 10 years old — unleaded petrol is now available in 170 garages.
