• The Bus and Coach Council's training organisation, Bus and Coach Training, has set up a business advisory service that can provide consultancystyle help.
BCT has retained Hubert Allen (ex-chairman of Yelloway), Harold Baggott (ex-chief executive of Leisuremaster) and Toni McLachan (ex-general manager of Grey-Green) as the first three consultants.
A one-day visit and consultation by the BCT consultants costs 2225 plus VAT or 2150 plus VAT for BCC members. The operator will subsequently receive a written report, advising various courses of action.
