• Whittle International Movers of Preston, Lanes, has made P E Davis a director, to head up its warehouse and fleet operation in Northern Ireland. Davis was previously general manager with Dawsons of Glasgow for five years.
▪ Bernard Wills has joined NORBA, part of the Multilift company of Shrewsbury, in the newlycreated post of service development manager. His main brief is to strengthen the link between the company and its customers in the after-sales and service function. He was previously with Coventry City Council, where he was responsible for all vehicle and plant maintenance.
• Two senior marketing appointments have been made by BRS Engineering, the nationwide service and maintenance organisation of the NFC. Peter Parry is the new business development manager (he was previously group marketing manager of BRS) while John Curtis is the new ac count manager for buses and coaches.
• One time lorry driver' Stan Burrows has been elected national chairman of the 6,000-strong Institute of Transport Administration for the current year, replacing Colin Thomson, who has held the post since 1985.
