RAY HICK has become the new works engineer at Midlands British Road Services Wolverhampton repair centre. He was previously with Vincent Greehous, the Bedford main agent in Telford, and prior to that, with Furrows, who are Ford lorry specialists. Mr Hick, who has worked in the commercial vehicle maintenance field for 11 years, succeeds Frank Goodall, who retired at the end of August after more than 20 years with the company.
New United States management at Sandbach Engineering, Fodens' successor, includes the British commercial vehicle industry's only woman chief engineer. She is Laurie Baker, from associate Paccar company Kenworth. Also ex-Kenworth is marketing manager Ross Canterberry. The company's managing director is Hank Kiefer (not Kiezler as we reported last week) from the Australian Kenworth subsidiary.
Mitchell Cotts Airfreight (UK) Ltd has just opened an office close to Gatwick Airport and its new manager is Kenneth Ede, who has been with the company for only five months. He has spent the last five years in the air freight forwarding industry based at Gatwick. Assisting Mr Ede as supervisor will be Robin Smith, who has been working in the air cargo industry for the last three years.
Andy Robertson has taken over as the Road Haulage Association's Devon and Cornwall area secretary after 33 years in the Army. He succeeds Peter Robinson. Neil Young, assistant sec tary of the Freight Transport sociation's south-east regi has joined Overdrive as sistant central manager.

Safety awards were present' to 22 of London's top bus drive at a presentation dinner earli this week. All the drivers at ti ceremony — held at Lonck Transport's headquarters Westminster — have at least years of safe driving behit them.
