Winning a gold medal was M & G's double-skinned grp road tanker, designed to carry a maximum payload of petrol chemicals or other hazardous liquids within current regulations. This conventional-shaped 300SF6 model is a development of M & G's revolutionary low body grp tanker. Six inner tanks, each of 5,000 litres, can accommodate a multiplicity of loads and has an unladen weight of only five tonnes. The moulding design allows variation in capacity by manufacturing in different lengths.

A standard faucet height of 750mm (29,5in) can be changed to suit individual operational requirements.

The tank, provided with an officially approved anti-static discharge system and normally equipped with a four-spring slipper-type bogie, is designed to give a very low centre of gravity providing greater resistance to roll over. Added safety features include a flat non-slip full-width top walkway, and rear underun protection in which any rearward impact is dissipated through the outer skin to leave the inner load carrying cells intact.

Marsden employs a composite construction of mild steel top-hat framing with integrally bonded one-piece grp exterior panelling in the production of its aerodynamically styled pantechnicon bodywork with incorporated crew/sleeper cab.

Rounded corners and a wedge-shaped front roof section go some way to cut down drag without seriously reducing interior dimensions. The floor comprises resin-bonded plywood with joints sealed with a Neoprene compound. The roof section is caped by a one-piece translucent grp extrusion.

Side-loading doors measuring 2m,x 2.1m (6 ft wide x 7 ft high) are fitted with continuous weatherproof hinges and recessed cam locks, while rear access is enclosed by full-height hinged doors fitted with heavy duty burst-proof locking bars. Underframe towage houses leading ramps and the interi fitted with hardwood tie and ceiling lights.
