The smallest vehicles in the Ford line-up are the 6 and 8 cwt Escorts powered by petrol engines of 1100 and 1300cc (67 and 79 cu in), developing 39 and 46kW (53 and 61bhp) respectively. The 8cwt van, for example, is rated at 1.32 tons gvw with a wheelbase of 2.41m (7ft 11 in). The price of the 1100cc 6cvvt van is £992 exVAT and that of th-4p00cc 8cwt van is £1,163 ex-VAT.

The Transit range is too vast to cover in detail. The type. numbers denote the nominal payload in kg eg the Transit 90 has a payload of around 900kg (19851b) with the range encompassing the 75 to the 175 Transit. Only one model from the A-series weighs in under 31/2 tons gvw, the A 0406 plated at 3.5 tonnes (3.44 tons). The power unit is a Ford diesel of 2.4 litres

(146 cu in) capacity which develops 45kW (61 bhp) at 3600 rpm. Various wheelbases are available from 3.05 to 3.96m (10ft Oin to 13ft Oin).
