Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Brakes, Law / Crime

May I ask Philip Salter (CM Sept, 20, "Braking methods") : Who picks up the transmission from the floor after he's brought a loaded h.g.v. to a standstill while still in top gear?

As an h.g.v. driver of 28 years standing. I'm sure this is a very bad practice, particularly on wet or icy roads. As for "gradual increase of pressure on the brake pedal" as he states. on most vehicles this is impossible.

I would be the last person to tell a policeman how to enforce the law, even if he did try to teach me my job, of which I am proud.

T. BOYLE, Hindley Green, Wigan. PS: I wonder if he's tried a Scammell box.
