Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The first item on the "Questions and Answers" page, (CM October 41 states: "It would cost approximately £5,000 to equip a pump room, and more if you were also to make the room dust and damp proof."

I am quite confident that a pump and injector servicing workshop should not cost more than £3,000 if it is set up as a partitioned room within an existing building, and the cost of establishing this workshop could be considerably reduced if only a small range of pumps are to be serviced.

Your advice that an operator with only 12 vehicles would not find it economical to establish his own pump room is, in our opinion, correct, but, if any of your readers would like to know the break even point in terms of fleet size for establishing their own servicing facilities or would like further details on the cost of setting up the specific workshop, we will be very pleased to give them guidance.
