I have delayed writing this letter so that my anger could cool off sufficiently to enable me to express myself in a coherent manner.
After waiting 20 years to get permission to build the bridge, then having to borrow money which we have already paid through tax extracted from the long-suffering motorist and the transport industry as a whole, plus the insult of having to pay interest on our own money, Mr. Ross has decreed that we must pay more to his Lords and Masters in London..
Our big-hearted Government is so busy handing out countless millions to be thrown into the bottomless pits of the so-called underdeveloped countries, that it cannot spare any for undeveloped Scotland.
Surely the time has come for the people of Scotland to tell "King William" where to get off—preferably from the middle of the bridge! R. G. BREWSTER, Kilbarchan, Renfrewshire PS.—I am not a Scottish Nationalist—yet.
