busmen's representatives decided overwhelmingly in favour of a complete ban on overtime and rest-day working throughout the Central London fleet. The ban, which follows individual garage's action, is in protest at the effects of the staff shortage and the new winter timetables, it is also seen against the background of the men's recently lodged demand for a 30s. .a week. pay increase, a 40-hour, five-day week and three weeks paid holiday.
About 40,000 scheduled miles a 'day would he lost through an overtime ban through the L.T.B.'s 71 central garages..
