Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

'AMOCO

Hawk doesn't want to worry about his age, Bird's-eye view (CM, Oct 28). I and almost 100 per cent of hgv drivers agree that bus drivers are a complete menance on public highways, once again showing lowering of standards in skill and manners.

The numbers of drivers I converse with, concerning incidents encountered on a journey, agree without a doubt that the bus driver is the biggest menace to cope with!

It would seem that anything goes today: slovenly dress, hair down on their shoulders, the absolute sin (driving a psv) of smoking while operating a vehicle, atrocious braking and bad road manners.

It would seem that if you go on the skid patch at Chiswick, you need no more qualifications.

I agree wholeheartedly everything said by I. J. Hewbery, of Boreham Wood, and would add that one flash from a bus will not make me stand 40 feet of trailer and tractor, plus 20 tons of steel, on its nose to compensate for their lack of good manners and skill on the public highway.

Women bus drivers do the job much better.

F. G LARMAN, Enfield.
