Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Scottish Ambulance Service driver in Glasgow was dismissed when he refused to produce his riving licence for inspection at a routine check on licences. He claimed unreasonable dismissal efore the Scottish Industrial Tribunal which dismissed the claim.

Hugh Dolan was employed 1 1973 as an ambulance atandant, he became a driver in 974 when he was asked Thether he held a driving .cence and whether it was ubject to suspension or ndorsement; he answered no' but he had been dislualified.

His employment resulted on he basis of that deceit, the :ribunal ruled.

In 1976 he was involved in a tharge of careless driving, not Lt work, and his licence was mdorsed, which he reported o a superior officer.

Later that year all drivers vith the service were required to produce their licences for inspection. Mr Dolan refused to produce his licence and dismissal followed.

In dismissing the claim the Tribunal ruled that the Scot tish Ambulance Service was entitled to apply the longstanding rule of employment,. that the rule was a reasonable one and that the employer acted reasonably.
