Edinburgh. last week refused two bus operators permission to increase their fares because or the provisions of the Prices and Incomes Act.
Mr. I. B. Glass, West End Garage, Haddington, East Lothian, and Mr. Robert Wilson, Lanark, wanted to increase the charges on the stage services they operate by a penny on each fare. Mr. Glass applied for an increase on the stage route he operates from Haddington, via Garvald, to Dunbar; and Mr. Wilson on the service his firm runs between Lanark and Carluke.
