Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The construction of a new factory for trucks, diesel engines and tractors, of 250 acres, to employ 5,600 and costing £11,000,00, was begun at Bathgate near Edinburgh on June 1 last. It will be in operation late next year or early in 1962, and aim eventually to be producing from it 1,000 trucks and 750 tractors a week.

A month ago we had to announce short-time working in our car factories and in their supplying plants, but I do not expect this to be of long duration. Paradoxically, at the same time we have been endeavouring in every way to increase commercial vehicle output to catch up with the heavy demand.

The new Austin Seven and Morris Mini-Minor 4-ton vans have met with very ready demand on account of their obvious capacity and economy. The new l0-12-cwt. forward-control vans caused much favourable comment on their first appearance at this year's Commercial Vehicle Show.

I am in no way pessimistic as to the future. The present uncertainties are nothing new and will pass.
