TN a dispute between Llandudno Urban 'District Council and Crosville Motor Services, Ltd., before the North-western Licensing Authority, last week, the council invoked an Act of 1928 to support a case against the company.

Both the corporation and the company were applying for licences to run circular tours from Prince Edward's Square. Llandudno, to Dolwyddoen and back, The council proposed to charge a fare of is. 6d. for the 8.1-mile journey, but would accept Is. 3d. as reasonable Objecting to the company's proposal to run a similar service, the town clerk of Llandudno said that under the Llandudno Urban District Council Act of 1928 the council had power to appoint bus stops. The company's representative replied that the council's full jurisdiction in the matter had been repealed by the Road Traffic Act, 1930.

Crosville proposed to charge a fare of Is. 4d. for the circular tour, with an 8d. stage at Efail-y-Waen in order to serve the inhabitants of Bryn Pydew. The company claimed that Llandudno's opposition was based on the council's objection to Crosville's vehicles using Prince Edward's Square and that there was no legal ground for this objection.

Decision was reserved.
