Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

As an international haulier, I am calling on ferry operators to provide more support and better security to stop immigrants gaining entry to our vehicles during Channel crossings. So far we have been lucky—none of my drivers have been fined—but I am sure that its just a matter of time.

The driver from Gordon Jackson Trucks, who refused to leave the ferry until Dover immigration and police officers had checked his vehicle, had the right idea (CM 27 April-3 May). I have instructed my drivers to do exactly the same. If they are remotely suspicious that stowaways have got in during the crossing, then they will stay put. After all, why should we be the ones to carry the can when the ferry operators are getting off scot-free?

I'm not asking for much: just more security guards to man the vehicle decks and more CCTV cameras to capture what's happening on-board. If they don't take this advice, they could find themselves losing long-standing customers to what seems to be the safer alternative—Eurotunnel.
