Vehicle refrigeration unit manufacturer Hubbard Engineering has appointed three area service engineers for its new on-the-spot maintenance and emergency repair service.

Ken Jarvie, previously with Hubbard's agent in South Africa, takes on the Scottish region. George Hebden, formerly a refrigeration engineer in the Army, is looking after Northumberland, Durham, Cleveland and Cumbria. Tom Rooney is responsible for Hubbard service in Gloucestershire, Avon, Gwent, Glamorgan, part of South Wales, East Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

Ernest Hodson has become the director of Goodyear's international technical centre in Craigavon, Northern Ireland.

Mr Hodson joined Goodyear in 1962 as a development engineer and became chief design engineer at Craigavon in 1967. The centre is responsible for all research and development of Goodyear industrial, automotive and film products outside the USA.

Barry Steel has recently become transport manager for Ideal Transport of Brigg. In this position he succeeds Richard Burton and has overall responsibility for the company's fleet of distribution vehicles.
