He joins Jones Filtration from the Americanbased Winthrop Laboratories Pharmaceutical, Brian Mabbot has joined Lucas Kienzle Instruments as marketing manager. He succeeds P. R. Massey who resigned to live abroad for health reasons.

Michael J. Cantwell has joined Southern Transport (Service) Enterprises Ltd as sales executive after 13 years with Pirelli. Mr Cantwell will look after the London and Middlesex areas while that of Godfrey E. Cornish, late of Salisbury Garages, Salisbury, will look after the South West.

A. Turpie has been appointed office manager at the Scottish factory of Taskers Trailers Ltd and will be based at the company's premises at Blairlin Industrial Estate, Cumbernauld.

W. J. Ayers has been appointed group technical director of European Ferries Ltd, the parent company of Townsend Thoresen Car Ferries, Transport Ferry Service and lnvicta International Airlines. His appointment follows a 22-year association with the group.
