Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Most of the 120 drivers at CoOperative Wholesale Services are expected to accept a 2% pay deal.

Unions are recommending acceptance of the revised offer which is backdated to January 11. The distribution arm of the Co-op supermarket chain originally argued for a six-month pay freeze, says a Manchester TGWU officer.

Over 120 drivers, at eight regional distribution centres, are covered by the CWS agreement which was negotiated jointly by the TGWU and USDAW. "It is a very reasonable deal in the light of what's happening in the industry," a CWS spokesman says.
