Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW electric retarder range suitable for coaches is being launched by the Jacobs Manufacturing Co and distributed by the Kirkby Organisation.

The windings on this are concentric and are energised in four stages by a column-mounted switch for the driver. This winding technique is said to give good protection from corrosion for the unit.

The Jacobs electric retarder is built in Spain, and on coaches is always mounted on the propshaft rather than attached to the gearbox or rear axle.

Kirkby has a demonstra. tion unit mounted on a Bedford YRT and the unit also fits easily to the Ford range.

Kirkby has also become sole concessionaire for the Jacobs engine brake in this country.
