Chassis swop
CITY of Nottingham Transport is changing the chassis order for the second 30 of 60 buses for delivery this year and next, from Fleetlines to Atlanteans. All will have Northern Counties bodies.
"I also have authority to negotiate with Leyland to change some of the first 30 Fleetlines to Altianteans if possible" Nottingham general manager, Philip Groves, told CM.
Luton commuter
FOLLOWING the instigation of luxury coaches in Green Line services, London Country has laid on an early morning service suitable for commuters from Luton to Victoria. The 0709 service from St Albans to Victoria has now been revised to start at Luton Airport at 0636.
Marking time
ON April 1, 1977, changes to the coach arrangements for viewing the Changing of the Guard are to be made.
The space formerly allocated to coach parking in the Horse Ride is to be reduced and replaced by parking facilities in Horse Guard approach.
Rolls power
THE FIRST taker for RollsRoyce powered Metrobuses is South Yorkshire PTE which has ordered a batch of 50.
This follows the initial order for five Gardner-powered Metrobuses announced by West Midlands PTE last month.
