THE fitting of a simple device which would A cause all the direction indicator lamps on a motor vehicle to flash simultaneously as an emergency warning signal has been recommended by Mrs. Barbara Castle Minister of Transport.
Such a signal would be given only when a vehicle had come to an enforced stop.
A working party is reviewing lighting regulations and the Minister has asked it to consider whether, at the same time as making fitting of direction indicators compulsory on all new commercial vehicles and cars, she would require the provision of this emergency warning device.
