Distribution workers suffer recession cuts
ONE-IN-FOUR DISTRIBUTION workers have had their pay cut since the recession began, according to the Keep Britain Working website. More than a quarter (27%) have experienced a reduction in hours, and one third (33%) have lost benefits, the highest sector in the UK, according to a survey of over 1,600 workers.
Overall, more than half of all UK workers (54%) have experienced a cut in pay, a reduction in hours, or a loss of benefits since the recession began. For more information and figures, see www.keepbritainworking.com.
