Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A grit-blasting machine specialty designed for workshop use, available from P L Tanton Equipment Agencies, is made by Swedish firm Airtec. The All heavy-duty suction blaster will clean rust, paint and scale from metal panels, welds and inaccessible corners.

The blasting pistol can be fitted with various styles of flexible suction cups, which recover ejected blasting material with suction from a 1,200W vacuum motor, connected by 3m of suction hose. The grit is then filtered before being returned to the 20-litre chamber.

The machine cleans in strips up to 40mm wide and can use a wide variety of blasting materials, which it recycles. The blast gun needs an air supply of 800 litres per minute at a mini mum pressure of six bars. Suction is provided by a singlephase 240 volt motor, although a 110 volt motor is available. P L Tanton
