of Free Enterprise ferry will shortly be sold by tender. Details on Lot 1, which will be restricted to passenger cars (estimated weight 100 tonnes) can be obtained from the Belgian company Langlois in Ghent on (01032) 91512306.
Further information will be advertised in the Sale & Tenders classified section in next week's Commercial Motor. The sale by tender of commercial vehicles involved in the ferry disaster will be announced within the next few weeks.
The cars are said to be so damaged that they are virtually unsalvageable, but the HGVs are in better condition and could be salvaged, rather than scrapped.
