TANKER CALIBRATION FROM THOMPSON • Thompson Tankers, the Northern Engineering Industries group member and tanker bodybuilder, has set up a road tanker calibration unit at its Bilston, West Midlands, factory, in collaboration with the Consumer Services Department of Wolverhampton Borough Council. The unit will not only serve Thompson Tankers, but also all manufacturers and hauliers in the area. The same service was previously only available in Birmingham.
The calibration unit, at Great Bridge Road, is in Thompson Tankers' own specialist testhouse, but will be operated by council trading standards officials. Tanker operators are reminded that calibration is required for all bulk liquid road tankers which dispense loads to accurate quantities.
