• Perkins' naturally-aspirated six-cylinder Phaser truck diesel engine which Renault Truck Industries is due to fit in its revised Commando models later this year, has been derated by over 8% from 98kW (131hp) to 90kW (120hp) (BS AU 141a, gross).
The company says the reduction in output is necessary to meet emissions legislation and is a consequence of having to adapt an engine designed primarily for turbocharging.
