Saving tyre costs through good management by Barrie Allbert Recent fleet examinations have revealed a vast wastage of tyres through incorrect selection, mismatching and poor checks on inflation pressures. Mr Allbert will explain how operators and managers can minimise tyre costs, and how the manufacturer can help. He will also be looking at today's tyre design and forecasting developments over the next 10 years.

Barrie Allbert is development manager, truck tyres, Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd. He has had wide experience of the tyre industry both in Britain and overseas.

Since joining the company in 1953 he has held a number of senior technical posts including that of Manager, Product Development and Tyre Testing for Dunlop Germany.

In his present post he has the responsibility for development of Dunlop truck tyres at factories throughout the world.
