PLANS to turn two long-established Aberdeen haulage companies into one of Scotland's leading transport services have been revealed by Aberglen Holdings Ltd.

Chairman and managing director Mr James Milne said his group have taken over North Vans and North Trucks, operating through the UK.

No figure has been put on the deal. The new service, known as Aberglen North Vans and Aberglen North Trucks, will employ vans, large capacity furniture vans, tippers and trailers.

Explaining the move, Mr Milne said: " Aberglen companies, have transport requirements that are growing.

"We shall be moving millions of pounds worth of goods. But this new arrangement will also be of immense benefit to other transport users, especially people in the North and Northeast."
