Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

We would like to point out that the comments made at Glasgow during the application made by Peter McAleer and Son, of Chapelhail; for their licence to be extended to cover two extra vehicles (CM June 18, page 40) could have been read as a criticism of the maintenance facilities of Geest Industries Ltd at Airdrie.

• The only facilities which Geest provide at Airdrie for McAleer and Sons are outside parking facilities and the occasional use of covered accommodation for McAleer's mechanics to carry out running repairs on their own vehicles.

Geest Industries Ltd operate 33 vehicles from The Plains, Airdrie, on their own behalf and there has never been any criticism of the company's maintenance facilities for their own fleet.

We would like to add that we appreciate that you were faithfully reporting comments made, and that in putting the record straight we are casting no reflection upon the integrity of your reporter or of your journal.

B. BARNACLE, Publicity Manager, Gees Industries Ltd
