The Minister of Transport has appointed Mr. R. F.. Large as a member of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for the North Western area. Mr. Large is manager of Coast Lines Ltd., of Liverpool.

Highway Trailers (Great Britain) Ltd. have promoted three of their representatives to area sales managers. They are: Mr. Roy Thrush (South and West), Mr. Hugh MacLeod (LomIcm, East Anglia and South East) and Mr. Robert Mellard ( M idlands and South Lancs). -Mr. L. C. Lloyd is to become works superintendent (road . services—Aldenham) of London Transport and an officer of the Board with effect from July 5. He succeeds Mr. A. F. Tame, who, as already announced, becomes works manager (road services) on the same date. Mr. Lloyd, who is 57, served his apprenticeship at Chiswick Works, where he was employed until 1940. Between 1940 and 1945 he was with London Aircraft Production and from 1945 to 1948 served with the Control Commission in Germany as a mechanical engineering control officer. Mr. Lloyd rejoined London Transport' in 1948, becoming responsible for the development shops at Chiswick Works. In 1956 he was appointed assistant to the works superintenderitt(Chiswick) and the following year assistant works superintendent (road services—Aldenham).

At the annual general meeting of the Industrial Transport Association, held in London last week, Mr. W. G. Widnall was elected as the Association's new chairman. Vice-presidents elected were Mr. A. L. Bagen, Mr. C. A. Elliot, Mr. J. M. Hanna, Mr. A. A. Hart. Mr. L. J. Hopkins, Mr. F. H. Wells and Mr. G. L. Fades. The Association's new secretary is Mr. G. Douglas.

The Royal SocietY's S. G. Brown Award and Medal has been won this year by Mr. F. T. Bacon, consultant to Energy Conversion Ltd., for his work in the development of fuel cells, on which he has been continuously engaged for the past 20 years. The 1965 nomination was made by The Institution of Mechanical Engineers of *which Mr. Bacon is an associate member.

Mr. E. B. Wilson, chairman of ENV Engineering Co. Ltd. and Eaton Axles Ltd,, has been appointed European regional director of Eaton Products. Mr. Wilson has been with ENV Engineering for more than 30 years.

The Minister of Transport has appointed Mrs. N. Bargh as a member of the Transport Users' Consultative Committee for Scotland.

Mr. Donald Ramsey has been appointed transport manager of Anthony Jackson's Foodfare Ltd., to take charge of a fleet of 60 vehicles.

Mr. Geoffrey A. Walker has been appointed fleet controller of Business Vehicles Ltd. He was formerly with Kennings Ltd.
